MONSTER BASH SUMMER 2004

SCARY MONSTER MEMORIES

The 2004 Monster Bash featured Guests of Honor Dee Ankers-Denning, Ron Chaney, Forrest J Ackerman, William Smith, Basil Gogos, Tom Savini, Ghoul A Go-Go, Baron Von Wolfstein and many more.

Holy smoke! Where do I begin. This was probaby the Bash most packed with great special events. The home movies of Evelyn Ankers and Richard Denning, Forry's heartfelt talk on Sunday morning, Ron Chaney giving us the inside memories on his grandad. Plus, some other memorable moments: Giving the audience a "hand" - rubber severed hands, hundreds of them thrown to the audience. Sam Scare (of Scary Monsters Magazine) tossing free giveaways to the crowd. Our own Bob Pellegrino leading the audience in the "Song of the New Wine" from FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN. And, hey...wow, the first day of sale for our very own magazine: Monster Bash Magazine - an instant hit! Monster Bash Make-Up Man Ron Chamberlain's spot-on make-ups of The Wolf Man, Frankenstein and Rondo Hatton's Creeper! Various roaming monsters filling the halls through the three days. William Smith (the kid in GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN that kicks the ball) kicking autographed balls to the audience. The greeting of Forry Ackerman to the hotel with a lobby packed to the rafters with sign-holding fans.....the memories just go on and on. Let's let the photos speak for themselves....

Bob Pellegrino leads an audience of hundreds of classic monster fans in singing the "Song of the New Wine" from the film FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN. What a hoot -- Bob was GREAT!

During the "Song of the New Wine," Ron Adams, Mike Adams (who throttled Bob on stage like Chaney Jr. did in the movie) and attendee Terry Napolitani in utter amazement.

Another shot of Bob singing the song with the 16mm projection behind him.

The monsters hit the stage in an all-out slugfest at the tail of the song.

A shot from The Old Dark Clubhouse, a club that meets at the Bash and decorates to beat the Blob, errr -- band. At the helm (top left to right): Gary Prange, Ron Adams, Kerry Gammill, Joe Busam. Bottom row: Todd Livingston, Bob Tinnell and Donnie Waddell.
