MONSTER BASH LETTERS
CREEPY CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT OUR LAST BASH, JUNE
20-JUNE 22, 2008!

Well Ron,
My visit was brief, but very, very enjoyable!! I do really miss out on alot by not being able to stay for the weekend, but I absolutely wouldn't want to pass up a few hour visit! Hear me out there all you little "Monsterkids", if you haven't been to Monster Bash....GO....you will not regret it. Even if it's only for the day!! Ron and company have done and continue to put on a wonderful convention for all of us classic monster lovers. Keep up the great work....until next year. -Bill Petko

Hi Ron:
We had a great time!
It was wonderful to see McFarland Press there. They should do book
signings. Would be fun. And would sell more books.
Their discounted pricing made their books easier to buy.
best,
Tom Jackson

Dear Ron,
Safely home again, I can't believe the MonsterBash weekend is over already. And what a wonderful weekend it was! From beginning to end, it surpassed the high standard set by MonsterBash Conventions before it. I had such a wonderful time, in spite of losing my voice (did anyone find it last nite while packing up?). Thank you so much, Ron, for including me in the lineup this year. I feel very much a part of the MonsterBash family.
A quick update on my trip home. Although my flight was originally scheduled for 8:20 pm, the flight was delayed several hours due to adverse weather conditions. We finally took off at 12:40 am, arriving in Newark at 1:40 am. It wasn't until 3:30 am that I finally arrived home. While the delay was a bit inconvenient, the adventure of being stuck in the Pittsburgh Airport with a ferocious thunderstorm raging on the tarmac outside seemed in sync with the horror theme of the weekend. It was perfect!
Please extend my appreciation to the entire MonsterBash team for all their help and for making me feel so at home, and, of course, my love to Ursula and Paisley. I look forward to returning to the MonsterBash again!
-Susan Gordon

Hi Ron -
What a fantastic show - non-stop, one of the best ever! We received
so many enthusiastic
comments after our presentation on our new documentary, "Legends Of
Film & Fantasy",
many wanted to pre-order it - NOW!
Many, many thanks - Cortlandt Hull & Dennis Vincent (The Witch's Dungeon, Bristol, CT.)

Dear Ron,
This is a Bash that kept unfolding one surprise after another for me! Had a great time there with my cousin Sara, friend Jill, and friend Rob Tullo, and as always we enjoyed meeting up with our Bash friends and spending long periods of time talking talking talking. But even more, we all had a great time having Elizabeth Shepherd with us for breakfast every morning--what an elegant, beautiful lady she is, and such an interesting and intelligent conversationalist.
I loved meeting Pat Priest (learned she is the daughter of Ivy Baker Priest, whose signature I remember on our dollar bills in the 1950s!), and Donna Douglas (she still whistles like a pro!), and delightful Jackie Joseph, and had tremendous fun talking to Donnie and Dana Dunagan and Bob Dix and Don Sullivan! Within minutes of talking to them, they all seemed like old friends. A stellar group of warm, kind guests!
The remote set-up talk with Forry was a treat, and when he asked to speak to/see me--well, I couldn't have been more touched! Another heartwarming event was the Vincent Price tribute, the memories of Price recounted by Charles Herbert and Donnie Dunagan and Elizabeth Shepherd. Surely one of the most touching talks I've heard, the combined discussion--not just about Vinnie, though that was all very positive and loving--but the way the talk included their views on fandom and being true to oneself and one's ideals. It was a memorable Bash event, and one I'll long remember.
And--I loved talking to your dad Tom and to your Aunt Marge! I'm thinking of adding them to my own family. lol
As always, we had to leave too soon--and we are looking forward to next year's con already.

Hi Ron-
Another Bash is in the books and the only thing I can think of to say is,
“It was FANTASTIC!” The programming was top-notch, but having attended 11
of the 12 summer Bashes, I expected nothing less. My heartfelt thanks to
you and your crew for continuing to provide us Monster Kids from all over
the world with an annual family reunion we’ll never forget. We’re already
counting down to next year’s Frankenbash!
Best always,
Jim & Marian Clatterbaugh
P.S. The new issue of MONSTER BASH magazine is excellent, and I especially
enjoyed the Sir Graves Ghastly (one of my two horror hosts growing up)
article by Steven Thornton and “Household Horror Fear of the Fly!” article
by Ben Martin. Congrats again on another fine issue!
Editor's Note: And thank you Jim forthe kind words. Next year I've got BIG circles around June 26-28 and November 13-15 (Jim's Monsters From the Vault LIVE Show)!

Dear Ron & Ursula:
This bash was for me, the best one yet. You had some really great guests, and it was great listening to their stories.
But one of the things that did it for me was all the great interaction amongst the bashers themselves. I got to have breakfast with Richard Scrivanni, Tim Herron and Richard Gordon. Richard's stories of old Hollywood were wonderful.
We had pizza hut with Don Reese, Scott Gotell and his fiance and one other gentleman whose name escapes me. (Thanks for those badges, it's hard to keep up with all the new folks I meet at every show).
The next morning breakfast with Charles and Anna Marie Henson, Kyle Nance, Sam Borowski and two more (sorry, about their names).
The conversations are wonderful and it amazes me how well most people gel with one another even if they do not know each other all that well.
God bless you and Ursula for all the work you guys put into this. Thank to you, we have more new FIENDS than we can count. : )
See you guys next year.
-Pat Gonzalez

Thanks a lot for a GREAT Bash-I'll be there next year guaranteed!
-Paul Speidel, Canada

Hi Ron,
Thank you for another wonderful Monster Bash! We had such a marvelous time.
Take Care,
Penny Dreadful

Ron,
Just a note to tell you that as usual I had a great time and to thank you for all you did for the Sheaffer family. It was truly appreciated.
I look forward to this bash every year as my vacation from the world. The great merch, guests, movies and best of all all the friends I see every year. Thanks for all the memories.
In the words of the immortal Don Reese - you are fantastic!
Sincerely,
Melody A. Stevens
10 year bash attendee

I am looking forward to next "Big FRANKENSTEIN Monster Bash." I really want to meet Donny Dunagan & his wife again, too. And, do my Donny Dunagan "imitation" for him & his wife! I was a little afraid to, this time- but WON'T be afraid to, next time! He was the "highlight" of Bash, to me- & ALL the regular, "friendly" folks who had nice things to say to me! -They are the "Grr"-eat ones, in my book! The "regular", friendly people -& "down-to-Earth", out-going people like Mr. Donny Dunagan!
- David "The Rock" Nelson

Hello:
Thanks for another GREAT Monsterbash. I just don't know how you get it all done. You must be exhausted at the pace and high quality you have set to meet each year.
I know you must be glad when it's finally over but the rest of us go thru a depression that begins Sunday afternoon and hits me hardest Monday morning when I jump on the Harley and head back home with just the memories of the three days to keep me company on the 800 mile trip back to Iowa.
You, Ursula, Bob Pellegrino, Ben Martin and the rest have my upmost respect and gratitude.
See you next year.
Rocky from Iowa

Dear Ron,
Just a note to thank you kindly for the wonderful time Mazie and I had at Monster Bash! I wish we could have arrived Friday night for Don's presentation.
Monster Bash continues to be #1 and continued best wishes to you! ...And thanks for the continued support of our efforts at Alpha. I really appreciate it.
Regards, Steve Kaplan

ANOTHER GREAT BASH RON!
THE GUESTS WERE GREAT!
THANKS.
KEVIN

RETURNED FROM A MOST ATTRACTIVE GEO-REGION, AND SOME OF THE MOST GRACIOUS AND INTELLIGENT PEOPLE WE'VE ENJOYED IN LAST 16 YEARS, PITT, PA AND A LITTLE AREA CALLED BUTLER NW OF IT.
The Convention, hosted by the Adams family of PA, was a big hit in all manners of activity.
-Donnie Dungan

Hi Ron,
I hope you got some rest after the best Bash ever. The show was incredible and I want to thank you for letting me and Mark be a part of it!
You and all your wonderful people that put on the show make it the best convention anywhere!
All my best to you, Bob, your loved ones and the whole Bash group.
-Kevin

Thank you again for such a FANTASTIC weekend Ron! The Monster Bash is THE convention that all other conventions WANT to be!
Everything was great, but I especially enjoyed meeting Donna Douglas, Elizabeth Shepherd, and Pat Priest! What lovely
and wonderful ladies! And as always, the lovely Susan Gordon is so charming and sweet. And Richard Gordon...wow, what a true gentleman and treasure he is! And Donnie Dunagan...what a class act...a true hero! I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea. Okay...Bash 2009 is full steam ahead!
Now...how do we get access to the Time Machine to speed things up a bit?
Scott Goettel

I wanted to thank you for creating an event that can be enjoyed by all ages.
This was my daughters first Bash and I must say she loved it. It's one thing to relive our monster memories and another to create new ones for the next generation. I'm 34 and my daughter is 3 so it's hard to find many things that we both can equally enjoy.
I look towards the Monster Bash more than any holiday and cannot express my happiness to see that my daughter seems to feel the same way. I also wanted to thank Paisley (your daughter) for including my daughter in her games although she is much older than Isabella (Batty). It was hard for me to parent at the Bash since I just wanted to be a kid myself. I do think she had a really fun time and a really good time from a fathers point of view.
Other than playing on a luggage carrier she was better behaved than any thing else I have taken her to. The constant stimulus and flow of the Bash kept both of us interested, excited, and entertained for the entire day. From one monster fan to another I thank you for putting the Monster Bash on. From one father to another I appreciate you doing it in such a wholesome way.
-Sean

Hi Ron,
Great Bash, best since 1999, my first.
-Karl Spisak

Hey Ron,
Just once again saying thanks for yet another wonderful Monster Bash! Year after year it feels great to keep in touch with people that I only get to see and talk to once a year and talk about the things we love, like monster movies!
Thanks
Thom

Hey Ron,
Just wanted to let you know that I'm already waiting and looking forward to another Bash. This one was great. I can't believe next year is FRANKENSTEIN!! I'm excited!
-God Bless,
Theron
