MONSTER BASH LETTERS
CREEPY CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT OUR LAST BASH, JUNE
25-JUNE 27, 2010!

I was at the bash last Friday (could only stay for one day) and just wanted to thank Ron and the other folks for all their hard work. It was a really fun time and you all did a great job of keeping it all running smoothly. I'm sure you're all ready for some down time now, after that big weekend.
Thanks a lot, guys.

Ron:
I just wanted to thank you for inviting me to speak at the 2010 Monster
Bash. The event was fantastic, and you did an incredible job of
co-ordinating all of the activities. Debbie and I had a great time as
well. The turnout for my presentation was well attended, and I had a
great response from those who were there.
I had the opportunity to take some pictures with some of the guests of
the conference, and I will have these put up on my website shortly.
Thanks again,
Stan Gordon, Greensburg, PA

Dear Ron, I just wanted to thank you and Ursula and everyone else for great!! weekend...
Wow, if I had to sum things in one word, it would be FANTASTIC!! (sorry)...
Anyway, I'm all ready "lurking forweird" to next year and have my room booked already!
Beast witches and many thanks!!!

Dear Ron & Ursula:
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed this years Bash. You guys have put together another success in a long line of great shows. Out of all the Mexican movies we've translated, John and I both agree that Little Red Riding Hood was the most fun we've ever had at Mexican Movie night. I was surprised at how many people stayed all the way through it. But I was even more surprised at how many folks stopped me in the halls not only to tell me how much they enjoyed the translation, but how much we were missed last year. Quite a few bashers told me it wasn't the same watching the film without knowing exactly what was going one. So, it looks like we'll have no choice but to.........attend Bash 2012!!!!
We both reserved our rooms for next year, just in the nick of time as all that the hotel had were smoking rooms. I can only assume that the hotel is booked by now and that the one accross the street will soon follow.
(CLICK HERE for a list of all the MONSTER BASH hotels fillig up already with fellow Bashers!)
What I really enjoyed most about the show was the sheer camraderie amongst my fellow monsters. The conversations at the Bash restaurant, the auditorium and lobby and the Pizza Hut across the street. Folks who haven't seen each other in a year, getting together and talking about classic films and the stars that made them. This is waht makes the Bash not just another "con."
I look forward to next years show. See you then.
Pat Gonzalez, NYC

Ron,
This was our 4th Bash in a row and we once again had a BLAST! I highly recommend the Sock Hop again next year!

Ron:
Thanks again for a great time -The Bash has to be my favorite weekend of the year. I even like it more than Halloween! The Bash is as fun for me now, as Christmas was
for me at age eight. I want to thank you, your family, and all of the volunteers for a great time.

Hi Ron,
I made it back to Texas (26 hours later) still brimming with joy and excitement from this latest Monster Bash! I don't know how you manage to pull it off, but you continue to top yourself every year. All the great guests, Q&A's, movies, toys and collectibles, mixed with fellow monsterkids, made it a wonderful weekend.
Here are a few highlights for me:
The documentary from Daniel Griffith...I laughed my fool head off!
Mexican Monster movie night...Pat and John made this one a lot of fun. What a goofy movie!
Cube Zombies...Lots of fun and the White Zombie reference was cool.
Ghoul A Go-Go...I look forward to this every year!
Q&A with Ann Robinson...very informative. She is a class act (as is Julie Adams).
Don Reese...Another winning show from Don!
Live Theater---The Pit and the Pendulum...Zach Zito is amazing! How in the world can he memorize all that?!? Excellent.
Monster Bash Mass...Fr. Mike is very encouraging.
Silent Movie with live music...I had never seen this so it was a real treat. Kevin Slick's music was the frosting on the cake!
The Mummy In the Maze...what can I say, I'm a little partial to our movie! Thanks to everyone for the tremendous response.
The Rock...I like seeing The Rock perform every year. It's a Bash tradition!
All the videos and tributes from Charles Henson were excellent!
Thanks again for all the hard work you and your staff do putting the Bash together. I'm already counting down the days until 2011.....
Brian Nichols, Texas

Hello Ron:
I had 16 hours/800 miles of motorcycle travel time going home Monday to think about this years Monster Bash. I really enjoyed this years theme of science fiction movies from the 1950's. It was the fastest 3 days I've ever spent because everything was so good!!
I found it hard to find time to leave the movie/event room to go to the dealers room let alone the restroom.
Speaking of leaving, Monday morning it was raining hard enough that I delayed leaving the motel at 5:30 am until 6 am to let the daylight give me a little more visibility. I rode west in the rain for 200 miles and after that the sky cleared. Made it home to northeast Iowa before dark. Alot of road construction along the way. Averaged 45 mpg on my trusty Harley-Davidson.
Thank you for putting the Monster Bash together every year. I can't appreciate enough all the work you, your family and the crew do. Are you accepting 3-day memberships for next year's Bash yet?
Thankyou......Thankyou........Thankyou.

Thanks again, I had a blast......... I mean Bash!

Hey Creepy Classics,
I went to monster Bash this past weekend and I had a fantastic time. It was my first Bash and I can't wait till next year. I'd like to thank all that took part in organizing this event. George " The Animal " Steele was the nicest guy. I had a blast, spent way too much money and I'm going to start working overtime now to save for next year. MONSTERS RULE.
Thanks,
John Murray

Hi Ron,
Just dropping you a line to let you know we had a great time at the Bash.
Take care and hope to see you again next year!

Hi Ron,
Like last year, my cousin and I had a heck of a "Ghoul" time at this years "Bash". I met the "featured guests" and got all of their signatures in the "Biography Book" that I purchased from the great "Sci-Fi" producer/director "Bert I. Gordon".
I also got my picture taken with these fine people and I also had my picture taken by many of the wonderful people attending the "Bash". I will be sending you photo's that you may like to put in the "Monster Bash Scrapbook" -
"Remember Monster Bash"
Mark (goulardi) Hale

Thanks for another great event.
Also,
I think the youtube trailer for next year's Vampire Monster Bash is really excellent!
I look forward to 2011.

Hey Ron,
Another great Bash, our lucky 13th of the 15 that you’ve put on.
Unfortunately, this is the first one that Autumn had to miss. This was also the first time that we stayed from beginning to end. I remember when we used to get to the hotel late on Friday afternoon, then leave early Sunday morning. Eventually, the Bash will expand to a full week.
Some things that jumped out at me:
Aurora Models – I had all of the original monsters. But my teenage friends told me that I was “too old” for that stuff, so we used them for BB gun targets. Oh, the horror!
The Making of “The Beast of Yucca Flats” – I really miss MST3000 on Saturday mornings. And it was great to see Bob Burns again. This brought some redemption to a really awful movie.
Cube Zombies – For anyone who has worked for a big company, they know that this story isn’t far from the truth . I have an office now, but I did 25 years of hard time in the cubicles.
Sunday Mass – A very inspiring message from Father Mike. We’re not Catholic, but we’ve always felt like we were at our own church, when we attend this service. As Father Mike says, “All faiths are welcome. Even if you don’t have any faith at all, you’re still welcome. Because you will have faith when you leave.” I don’t know if Father Mike said that, but he could have.
Great Moments in Entertainment – Ursula Interviews Susan Gordon
Some interviews drag on, but this one was over too soon. In fact, it was hilarious. The ladies can dance, and they can run the Bash too! Next up is Dancing With The Stars.
Mummy’s Maze – Great little film, by far the scariest presentation of this Bash. Probably the scariest movie at any of the Bashes.
Michael Thomas – What a great and funny man he was. Excellent work, Charles Henson and everyone else who honored Michael.
The Rock – Cathy says he’s mellowing, but I don’t think so. Never give up the stage without a fight!
A few minor complaints:
Mexican Movie – These are great when they’re trying to be scary. Little Red Riding Hood is just too silly. Why not a Santos movie? I don’t think that we’ve ever had one.
(Editor's Note -- Get ready for next year...wrestlers and giant spiders)
Sinister Serials – Bring back the man in the white lab coat!
(He was with his young son this year...Leonard Kohl will return next year)
See you next year,
Karl, Cathy, & Autumn next year

Hi,
What an incredible time you create for us at Monster Bash - I come back each
year telling people it's like a huge house party for people who share a common
interest -- And each year I learn something new about the movies that
illuminated my childhood --
Jack Butterworth

Ron & Staff,
I want to take this time to say thanks to you and your staff for all the hard work put into making Bash a great "family" get together. Every year seems like a great family re-union, meeting your friends and making new ones.
I have been to every Bash, including Winterfest, except for 2008 when I had a family emergency. I want to thank YOU myself personally, for bringing back all the memories of childhood. The Sci-Fi and Monster movies Fri. night at the Drive-In, Sat. Matinee's at the local theater, and of course the local Monster movie host on TV. Again you have kept us "oldsters" young. Thanks again Ron!!
Best,
Jack Dowler
