MONSTER BASH LETTERS
CREEPY CORRESPONDENCE ABOUT OUR LAST BASH, JUNE
22-JUNE 24, 2012!

Hey Ron,
Just wanted to send a quick note to say Thank you so much for treating Le-Thanh & I so well at Monster Bash. We both had a wonderful time thanks to you and your professional staff.
It was wonderful to spend some time with Richard Kiel and Diane too.
FLASH: I just hooked up with Bob Dix on Facebook tonight and am hoping to try to get together with him sooner rather than later.
Best always,
Arch Hall Jr.

I can't thank all you guys enough for such a wonderful weekend! I haven't had that much fun in a long time! Thanks so much for all your hard work! Can't wait until next year!
-Ray Cygrymus

Ron, thank you and your great staff for another wonderful MonsterBash. Everything was so fantastic and cool. Had a marvelous time with my family at Butler, it was a supreme moment in our lives!!!
-Archie Shoultz

Dear Ron,
I just wanted to thank you and everyone for another great Bash! I had so much fun and there where so many cool things going on as always.
But I think the 'highlight' was when Arch Hall, Jr. and Kenny Miller joined the Bash Boys! fantastic!!
Malcolm Gittins

Hello everyone!
I've been trying to make a Monster Bash for about 8 years but something always
gets in the way. This year was my first time attending the Bash. I came on
Friday and Saturday. Next year will definitely be all 3 days.
Anyway, I had the best time ever on the two days I was there. I got to meet
some super awesome people and watch some great movies. What a great family
atmosphere with a collection of the best people. I really can't wait for next
year.
I just wanted to extend my thanks to the Monster Bash crew for putting together
this great celebration of monsters and people.
-Joe P.

Hi Ron,
Just got home from a 15 hour 800 mile motorcycle ride today from another GREAT Monster Bash. I really enjoyed the prehistoric theme this year and all the great dinosaur movies that were screened. As you said, "the days all kind of run together" and then all of a sudden it just ends. I always feel a little emptiness Sunday afternoon after the show is over but on the ride home today I had plenty of time to think about what happened over the weekend. I especially enjoyed the world premiere video "Ray Harryhausen-Special Effect Titan", the Monster Bash Band with Arch Hall Jr. playing the guitar and the Saturday night "Forry" awards.
This predawn Monday morning as I was packing the Harley in the motel parking lot I took one long, last look at the Days Inn knowing that this would be the last time I would ever be here. The Days Inn in Butler is special to me because this is where I attended my first Monster Bash in 2002. I've been to every summer Bash since and will be there next year too. I'm turning 60 this year and hope to make the trip to your Monster Bash as long as I can ride the Harley and as long as you keep doing it. I would even take a trip to MARS!
Thanks Ron.
Rocky "Ghostrider" from Iowa

Hi Ron
I had a great flight home.
Speaking of great your Show was just that.
Thanks for having me there.
My very best
Ricou Browning

Hi Ron,
As usual, this past weekend's Monster Bash was a blast. Unfortunately, the weekend seemed to pass too fast, but it was great to see friends I usually see once a year, like Gary Patti and Zach Zito (whose Saturday night performances are always the high point of the Bash each year).
Timothy Frick

Hi there Ron!
I was in Tom Weaver's Monster Brain Twister Show, the kid with the green Creature shirt on.
Just wanted to say how much of a great time I had at Monster Bash! This was my first time there, and I can guarantee you that I'll be coming back again for sure!
Thanks for putting on a great show!
Matt

Hey Ron,
I just wanted to thank you and all your staff for another jam-packed,
fun-filled, awesome weekend. Monster Bash keeps getting better every year.
It's the weekend I most look forward to all year. Now I've got to sit down
and relive it so I can write up all the wonderful things that happened so
Debbie and I can send it to Dennis for Scary Monsters. The Bash crowd is a
family that I'm very happy to be a part of. Thanks again to you and your
dedicated staff.
-Mike Ramsey

Hi Ron - just wanted to e mail now I'm back in England to say how much I enjoyed attending this years Monster Bash. I want to re-iterate to Ray when I see him on Friday just how much love there was there for him and how well to documentary was received. I also want to show him the Santo short and I'll aim to try and get a pic for you of him accepting the Forry Award.
The Bash was the most enjoyable convention I've attended (and I've been to many). The hard work that you and your family and friends put in shone thru. I could have spent many more hours in the dealers rooms. I forgot to get one of the Bash posters from you for my office wall! And the entire vibe was one a family affair or a party with friends. In other words a celebration.
Thanks again Ron.
Best Wishes,
Mark Mawston, UK

I just wanted to drop a quick line and tell all of you how great it was to see you all this past weekend. I hope you have a great thirteen months until the next Bash. As I told Don Reese this past weekend "I made a lot of really good friends here." It is were my Bash journey began and I enjoyed going back there every year. For me the Bash will always be where all of you are and I just wanted to tell you that my life is fuller and richer because of each and everyone of you.
Thank you for your friendship and God bless,
-Jerry Goodwin

Ron,
Great job running the BASH! It was my first one, and my 2 daughters had a blast. The most horror-inducing event of the day was easily the Friday afternoon traffic on Rt 28. I was fortunate enough to get Julie Adams (and Ricou) to sign my art work. Julie was very gracious; she was worried about messing up the art work, and even asked me if I wanted Julie or Julia on the poster. I was so busy being swept up in all the BASH excitement.
Keep up the good work. -John Sargent
(note: See John's artwork that he got signed on out Monster Bash 2012 Scrapbook Page 1).

Ron,
I was so happy to be able to attend this years Monster Bash after missing out last year. I'm still trying to get over that disappointment! I wasn't able to stay very long this year, but it was still enjoyable. Again, you and the entire Bash staff did a wonderful job. Kudos, many, many times over!! I hope to be able to spend more time next year, but however long, I will be there and that's what counts. Well, as "Arnold" always says.....I'll be back"! Maybe we'll see you in October?
-Bill Petko

Hi Ron:
I just wanted to thank you for having me as a guest speaker for the 2012
Monster Bash. The audience attendance for my lecture was fantastic, and
I received some very good information on some other cases that I will be
investigating. Debbie and I enjoyed ourselves, and I continue to be
amazed at the great job you do each year with what it takes to prepare
and organize for such an event.
The martians await you
in 2013.
-Stan Gordon

Hi Ron,
I made it back to Texas in one piece.
I can't tell you how great this Bash was. Seems like I say that every year, but this time around it was extra special. Don Reese once said, "We need the Bash", and I now understand exactly what he meant. Seeing old friends and classic monsters has a cathartic effect on me. Thank you, my friend, for all the time and effort you put into each Bash. It always pays off.
Thank you again for the great Bash.
-Brian Nichols

Hi Ron,
Hope you are recovering well from another terrific Bash. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it, and making us feel like part of your Bash family. You are the greatest and so is everyone around you.
Have a great day!
All My Best,
Kevin Flynn

Hi Ron,
Just wanted to thank you! We had a wonderful time - maybe the best yet! It was a blast talking to folks and helping with Ghoul a Go-Go. I wish we could have stayed for Mr. Lobo's show but we had a long drive back the next day (12 hours!) and had to get to bed.
Thanks again!
-Penny Dreadful

No need to contact, this is just for praise and laurels.
As 1st time "Bashers", we both had an incredible time. We expected the Bash to be fun. What we didn't expect was the kindness and consideration that was shown to us, especially Randy who is handicapped.
Miss Ursula was sweet and kind. Ron, when we could see him blazing by in a Haley's comet of Bashing was amazing. Randy had the BEST time EVER! Staff Bashers were as nice as the rest of the people there.
We look forward, next year (2013) to seeing some incredible people called the "Patient Creatures". Kuzibah and Grim told us impromptu stories the last day of the Bash.
Sometimes you are told to expect certain things. The 2012 Monster Bash delivered.
-Jan & Randy Wells

Ron,
Thanks for another great bash. This time I particularly liked the documentaries on Ray Harryhausen, Rondo Hatton and Robert Lippert. And Martine Beswick was great. You probably know she co-starred in one of the all-time great spaghetti westerns, A Bullet for the General, and I enjoyed getting her take on folks like Gian Maria Volonte and Klaus Kinski.
I'm looking forward to the trip to Mars. We went to a New Year's Eve party at that hotel a few years ago. Nice place.
Regards,
Lloyd Stires

Dear Ron,
We just wanted to graciously thank you for another fantastic Monster Bash. The Moehrings have been bashing since 1998 and we all agree that 2012 was, hands down, the best Bash yet.
Highlights included-
• The Bash Band with Kenny Miller and Arch Hall Jr
• The new comfy, spacious movie room
• Q and A with Richard Kiel and Arch Hall Jr
• Daniel Griffith's informative documentary Rondo Hatton
• The documentary on Ray Harryhausen
• Santa Claus and Mexican Movie Night (Don Reese sat behind us and said we all deserved a merit badge for sitting through it til the end)
In all the uncertainties of our daily lives it's a comfort to know that the weekend of Monster Bash we will watch movies; some new, some rare, and some we've seen a million times and never get tired of. We will devour tacos and burritos (while they last). We will marvel at the talent of Zach Zito. We will laugh til we need to go and change our pants at Don Reese. We will get schooled at Tom Weaver's Braintwister Game Show. We'll say 'oh yeah' while we watch the Charles Henson's montages. We will laugh, sing The Song of the New Wine and most certainly eat cake.
It's remarkable to see the care you and your crew put into making the weekend incredible. Just when we think things couldn't possibly get any Bashier, you out-bash yourselves.
Thank you...for everything. We're excited to Bash next year in Mars with you and all of our beloved Monster Kid Family.
Love,
Timmy, Eric, and Monica Moehring

Dear Ron and All The Bashers,
My wife and I made our first Bash this year and we had a better time than we had expected. The guests were all very gracious and so nice to talk with. The staff was helpful and the fans were friendly. I have been a monster kid since I was old enough to remember being scared silly by them but loved every minute of it. A special shout out to Don Reese who we have met before that bash when he performed in our home town. He proves how down to earth everyone in and around the bash are.
We will be going again next year and hope to keep coming as long as the Bash stands.
Best wishes to all and thanks. See you next year.

Ron & Company;
Thanks for another GREAT Bash. There were so many terrific things this year, more than I could possibly mention. But, a few things stood out for each of us:
Hollis - Of course, he loved the prehistoric/dinosaur theme. Every time that it looked like the soldiers had killed Gorgo’s mom, she would always come back to life. Hollis would yell “It’s alive, IT’S ALIVE!” I can remember that kind of excitement, over a giant creature that they couldn't kill. I think that he watched every dinosaur movie that was shown. He also liked the Sat. morning cartoons, the Stooge Theatre, the Penny Dreadful gang, and of course Ghoul-A-Go-Go.
Autumn - Zach Zito (her favorite actor) and Martine Beswick.
Cathy - Burt Gordon - What a great guy. The Bash is mentioned all through his book. So sorry about Susan passing, we didn’t know until we got to the Bash. We’ll have to start keeping up with the Bash news.
The Monster Bash Band, Arch Hall can really rock.
Ballyhoo Productions - All those giveaways were fun. Daniel Griffith is doing some great documentaries, about some pretty obscure subjects. Things that no one else is likely to be working on.
Karl - Ray Harryhausen Documentary - I was 9 when my mom took me to see “Jason And The Argonauts”. Like Ray said in an interview, it’s magic when stop-motion is on the screen.
The History of Stop-Motion - I’ve seen clips from the movies of Ladislaw Starewicz before, but this is the first time that I’ve actually heard of his work. Great job by Chris Morrow. Did I hear right, that he’s a high-school student? Amazing. By the way, “The Cameraman’s Revenge” can be seen in its entirety, on you tube.
The Hillbilly Werewolf, on Ghoul-A-Go-Go - Did anyone else like him?
The Rock won a Forry! Congratulations to him and all the other winners.
And we ALL loved the picnic, what a nice thing to do. Thanks a lot, Rich and Julie. I hope this becomes an annual event, we'll be glad to help out. Just tell us what to bring, and we'll have it.
This was our 15th Bash. It would have been our 17th, if we had known about it in 1997. I wonder, how many people have been to all of them?
See you next year,
Karl, Cathy, Autumn, Hollis
And next year London, he’ll be 4. That’s old enough to be a monster kid

Hi Ron,
Really had a great time at the Bash. really great time. It would be hard to say what was the most fun, but way up there would be the new design on the film/event room.
I really liked Arch Hall Jr/ I did local radio on the weekends here in Richmond for many years, mostly in alternative rock, and for a while a county oldies station. That was a lot of fun. Anyway, I've seen about every act I've ever wanted to and Arch Hall Jr is as good as just about anybody you could ever see play live. He's the genuine rocker. I always enjoy Brian Nichols film, and Daniel Griffith's documentaries. It was an honor and a pleasure to place in the trivia contest this year, especially after missing it by one point on the Dracula contest last year.
I have finally got around to printing some photos and here are some of my favorites. I look forward to seeing you next month at Martin's Nostalgia show
Stay Scared and keep it Creepy
Yours,
Michael Joyner

Hey guys, I'm finally getting around to writing this but I just wanted to let you know what a great time my friends and I had at Monster Bash. We always talk about going but something always got in the way. This year though everything was align so we were able to make the six hour drive to the convention. And we were not disappointed. We went to the Friday and Saturday show (had to leave on Sunday due to work commitments) and not only did we had fun but we were amaze how family friendly and accommodating everybody was. Being from New Jersey we were not use to that.
The Bash Band was great especially when Archie Hall and Kenny Miller got on stage and the cake serving was a hoot. We are still amaze what a great job everbody does and the long hours you all put in. And to top it off I got to meet Chilly Billy. I'm also sending you guys a couple of pictures my friend took of me and some guy name Frank. Once again great job and we'll try to get there for next year's bash.
