Standing at the opposite end of Dracula’s Mansion
from the booth where we entered... the lone Dracula figural display
piece can be seen around the middle of the pic - sadly, just a foam-filled
Illusive Concepts Mask from a few years ago... However, in all fairness
to the Cafe, when I spoke with the manager, she told me the official
grand opening is at Halloween, so hopefully they'll be adding more
memorabilia and collectibles, etc... However, all it takes is one
look at that archway and windows to remind me the designer was a
true Monster Kid at heart!! |

The Bride's Chamber, located at the far end of Dracula’s
Mansion... I love the booth design (again, that kitsch thing)...
the Bride display head is by Jack Nisi and Tom Savini sculpted the
bust of the Monster on the mantle. There's also a really nice green
theater herald from the original '31 Frankenstein on the wall, which
is also quite permanently affixed... ; ) |

The only photo I could get of the Mummy's Tomb area... because
of the weird lighting, getting the right exposure with any detail
in this area is very difficult. The rest of the room looked like
the inside of an egyptian tomb, with an assortment of monitors,
framed stills, etc. along with an Ardeth Bey Bust sculpted by Tom
Savini. And check out the hieroglyphics!!! A perfect spot for Iced
Tanna Leaf Tea... |

Going through the other entrance to the themed eating
areas from Frankenstein's Lab, you find yourself in the forest area
of the Wolf Man... again, with an assortment of monitors, framed
stills (other werewolves and assorted hairy characters are represented
here as well, such as the Werewolf of London and Mr. Hyde, etc.),
along with various posters including a nice Military Release? 2
Color One Sheet for the original film I’d never seen before... then,
turning around and walking to your left, puts you face to face with...

Insert blaring horn DA-DA-DAAA!!!! here! The display
at the entrance to the Creature's Lagoon area, sculpted by Henry
Alvarez(?). Still photos can't really capture it, but the illusion
is that you're looking into a giant bubbling aquarium tank containing
the Creature along with some flora and fauna from the Black Lagoon...
sadly, the camera flash washes out the eerie green lighting effect
as well. (Next time I'll be prepared with some really fast speed
film!) Anyway, you go around the display to the eating area in back,
the walls of which are constructed to sort of resemble the side
of a wooden boat, with portholes, etc... and of course the name
"RITA" stenciled on to one side... |
